breaking news. arson investigators are trying to determine the cause of a restaurant fire in san francisco's financial district. firefighters were called out just before 3:00 a.m. to california grill on commercial street. crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames there but one too the fire was hurt and taken to the hospital. >>> in castro valley alameda county sheriff's deputies shot a parolee after he appointed a rifle at them. they shot him in the driveway of his home around 7:30 last night. he was last reported to be in surgery at eden medical center. the man's family called 911 saying he was acting erratically and then the parolee called 911 and threatened to kill arriving deputies. >> in san jose police continue to look for a killer. the man stabbed a woman to death yesterday afternoon just a few blocks from the santa clara county sheriff's office. john alston has more from north first street. >> brutal stabbing happened in broad daylight in a parking lot next to the togo sandwich shop. matt was eating lunch when he heard a commotion and rushed out to help the woman that was sl

-hd. we've been talking about how dry it's been. san francisco has had the third driest january on record with 1.34 inches of rain the live doppler 7-hd not showing the rain, but we will be picking up a couple areas of light precip through the overnight hours. by the early part of the week, tuesday and wednesday we're looking maybe a half inch of rain around the bay. live look frrnd the bay and numbers really continuing to stay defeated mild, upper 50s san francisco. despite the cloud cover and onshore push we are starting out warm. numbers will be very mild and 48 in half moon bay with 52 in santa cruz. and if i am terrified sunshine with low 50s in fairfield. fog not a problem like it was yesterday morning. gilroy even up to 50 degrees. we are transitioning today from strong ridge of high pressure, call it fair and mild as the clouds continue to stream in out ahead of the weak weather system tomorrow that will bring a slight chance of showers but it does pave the way for a stronger system tuesday and wednesday. beach hazard will continue through the evening, very powerful wave

. near 50 in oakland. 53 in san francisco. 50 half moon bay. it will be cool at our coast again with those breezy winds but around the bay, here come the changes. in fact we're looking at a sunny and warmer weekend. we're not going to stop. there warmer days into next week and remember, to set your clock forward at 2:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. we're looking at temperatures just a little bit about average today. first column represents the average temperatures, second high temperatures. you'll notice upper 60s from san jose to livermore. that brings us up two to three degrees above average. we'll look for more warming, 2-4 degrees warming tomorrow. further on sunday and more on monday and tuesday. low pressure is out of the golden state. high pressure taking its place as it builds into the eastern pacific. that is allowing for a warming trend, still breezy winds at our coast and lighter winds and downsloping winds in the north bay. that is what happens when you get that clockwise motion and pressure on the atmosphere. we warm up quicker with 70 in sacramento. 63 in los angeles. ar
